A leading Indian pharmaceutical manufacturer sought to reduce fuel consumption in its biomass-fired boilers while ensuring stable steam generation and aligning with sustainability mandates. Rising energy costs and incomplete combustion in conventional systems made improvement essential. After evaluating various options, the company entrusted Spectrum with delivering an innovative solution that would provide measurable savings without major infrastructure changes.
Our Solution
Spectrum implemented its advanced oxy-hydrogen gas (HHO) generation system, which produces clean energy from water and introduces it into the combustion process. A high-capacity HHO generator was installed to feed the gas into the boiler’s air intake. The presence of HHO enriched the furnace with reactive radicals, accelerating ignition and improving flame propagation.
This enhancement increased the concentration of triatomic gases inside the boiler, ensuring complete combustion of biomass fuel. The system was integrated with the boiler’s temperature controller for real-time regulation of the combustion process, while blower speeds remained unchanged.HHO flow rates were carefully optimized to achieve maximum fuel efficiency and maintain ideal combustion ratios; all without requiring costly modifications.
Our Outcome
Post-installation, the plant saw a significant improvement in performance. The steam-to-fuel ratio increased, fuel consumption dropped, and overall savings exceeded 10%. These benefits translated into lower operating costs and cleaner operations, helping the company meet both financial and environmental objectives.
